Our Baker's Choice Breads
|
Josh, our baker, loves experimenting with bread recipes and creating new bread flavors. He draws inspiration from artisan bread books, bread baking websites, and you.

Monday- Spelt Bread
What is spelt flour? Spelt flour is a low-gluten flour that has a somewhat nuttier and slightly sweeter flavor than whole wheat flour. Spelt contains more protein than wheat, and the protein in spelt is easier to digest. Some people who are allergic to wheat may be able to tolerate spelt. Our Spelt Bread is made with organic spelt flour, water, salt, yeast, and a dash of honey. You can recognize it from the signature "S" that we score on the top of each loaf.
Tuesday- Apricot Brioche
Oh my! Our Apricot Brioche will actually melt in your mouth. It's loaded with sweet cream butter, fresh eggs, granulated sugar, whole milk, and dried Turkish apricots. The "crumb" (the inside of the bread) is light and golden with a texture like velvet. Apricot Brioche makes delicious toast (no butter needed) and tea sandwiches. This melt-in-your-mouth bread will be available on Tuesday.

Wednesday- Wheat Epi Our Wheat Epi is a nice wholesome twist to our regular French bread. It's made from whole wheat flour, water, salt and yeast. I love to take the Epi to a dinner party and watch as everyone enjoys tearing off their own little section of the bread. It's fun...and tasty, too! Available on Wednesday for $3.25 a loaf.
Thursday- Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil French We think you'll love this incredible bread! Imagine a crusty French bread studded with sun-dried tomatoes and sweet basil. It has a wonderful flavor and chewy texture-- a great accompaniment to your favorite meal!
Friday- Walnut Kalac
NEW BREAD! Wanut Kalac is a Hungarian sweet bread that is filled with a sweet blend of vanilla and walnuts. It is an absolute treat, and like many other breads, it is unbelievable when it's warm. I'm not a pro at the pronunciation, but I do know that the "c" at the end is pronounced "ch". Walnut Kalac will be available on Friday for $5.75 a loaf.
Saturday- Hoagie Rolls Hoagie rolls! Josh will be baking 6" White and 6" Wheat sub rolls on Saturday. Need something a little bigger, just let us know! |

A Closer Look: Italian Parmesan
|
Our Italian Parmesan bread is the perfect complement to a healthy salad, grilled chicken, or a hearty pasta dish. It's also great split open, lightly toasted, and stuffed with your favorite sandwich fillings-- I love to fill mine with homemade meatballs tossed in marinara sauce!
Josh uses our biga starter to give the Italian Parmesan a nice tangy flavor, then he adds a bit of olive oil and a touch of buttermilk powder to give the dough a nice soft crumb. Finally, he flavors it with a mix of Italian herbs and tops it with melted parmesan cheese. The finished product is an amazingly flavorful bread unlike anything else we make.
Italian Parmesan is available every Saturday for $3.25 a loaf.
